20042004
Foundation of HELICOPTERS AR S.A.
The company was born with the vision of offering the highest quality helicopter transport and aerial work services in Argentina and the region, with special focus on high-altitude operations. HELICOPTERS AR came to fill a key need in western Argentina: having a versatile and modern tool for rescue tasks and various aerial work specialties. The project took shape thanks to the union of Carlos López Van der Valk, Steve Jensen, Carlos Fagalde, and Diego Góngora Sierra, who joined forces to give birth to the company.
2005-2007
Specialization in high-mountain operations
The company consolidated as a reference in high-mountain flights in the Andes Mountain Range, developing unique experience in operations under extreme conditions. During this period, forest fire fighting activities in Spain were also expanded, strengthening the company's international profile.
2008-2015
Regional and international expansion
Operations ceased to be limited to Argentine territory, extending to Chile, Paraguay, and Spain, taking our experience beyond national borders. From each mission, technical and operational learnings were incorporated: pilots were trained in Switzerland, specializing in long-line rescue techniques, while mechanics reached new training levels, laying the foundations for the future certification of the Aeronautical Repair Workshop (TAR).
2016-2021
Institutional consolidation and key certifications
The company took a decisive step towards its sustainable growth with the inauguration of its own facilities at the Mario Cardama Aerodrome, which include hangar and offices. During this period, HELICOPTERS AR obtained its own TAR and the Air Service Operator Certificate (CESA), marking a milestone in its technical and operational development.
2022-2023
Leadership and service strengthening
HELICOPTERS AR reaffirmed its leadership in high-mountain flights, especially in Aconcagua Provincial Park, conducting operations above 6,000 meters altitude and participating in rescues on the south wall. Likewise, it consolidated as a reference company in aerial support for high-altitude geophysical campaigns throughout the Andes Mountain Range.
2024-Present
Fleet expansion and future projection
The year 2024 marked a turning point in the company's history, with the incorporation of a new Airbus H125 to the fleet. This investment allowed doubling operational capacity, responding to growing mining sector requirements and strengthening relationships with clients who have trusted us for more than two decades. This strategic decision reaffirms our commitment to sustained growth, continuous improvement, and expansion of aerial services we provide throughout the region.
